i don't think that this is related to the fact that you installed
another NIC adapter first. there are many possibilities why it doesn't
work. are you sure that you previously got an ip adress for the other
NIC? if yes, there probably will be a DHCP server in your network. that
could be that the pool of ip has run out and the last ip was given to
the NIC you previously built-in. So it's still reserved for it now.
please send more data about the network and everything related, so i
can tell you what that could be.
