i cannot view most images when using my IE. i installed a new graphics card
and everything is fine, working beautifully except when trying to view
online. i contacted the graphics card tech support, they cannot give me a
resolution as they have never heard of the problem. we uninstalled and
reinstalled drivers, etc...

only when i am online do i have this problem.

can anyone offer a suggestion??

Hi arianrhod :-)

You don't mention the verison of Windows you are using, but, you might try
the following and see if it helps:

Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Try reducing hardware acceleration:
Right click on the Desktop on an open area,
Properties>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot
Move the slider back to the left a little and test to see if that helps.
Try it at increments until you get all the way to the left end to see if
that helps.

also...

JPEG images appear distorted in Internet Explorer 6

Red X Instead of Images -
Can not see or save Images/Pictures
Fuzzy Text and fuzzy web graphics
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#jpg_gif

Change the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.

and..

Do you have an accelerator supplied by your ISP? If so, try turning it off.
It works by reducing image size (and therefor quality) for downloads.

or......

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy
images/distorted images
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers.htm#jpg_gif
or .
http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm

also..

If you have Zone Alarm, Uncheck "remove private headers" for all
sites.

or.....................

To restore the default file association, go to
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
Download, unzip and merge the REG file, "JPE/JPG/JPEG Association Fix"
Some image/graphics programs will change file associations.

Hope this helps :-)

thank you!!

okay, i DO have an acceleration device on my dial-up. i am writing to ask
about it there, as even when i change the options, i am still getting the
problem.

HOWEVER...i discovered that if i right click an image and hit "view original
image", it clears the pic and is perfect....

??

While you are waiting for word back from your ISP, check the information
