Bluish color cast in scanned images

I'm using the Epson Perfection 1650 scanner and am in general quite
satisfied with the results. The exception is that all scans come out with a
decided bluish cast. Using my CorelDraw and Photopaint 9 software, I'm able
to get quite good results, but it is a real pain and, if there's a better
way, a terrific waste of time. (At age 78, I don't have a lot of that to
waste!)

Photopaint 9 does not include a means of creating my own color profiles, so
I've used the profiles I made using my PhotoPaint7.

Any and all suggestions very gratefully welcomed!

I had a similar bluish cast with my Epson 1660 flatbed. I purchased a
reflective calibration chart from Wolfe Faust, used VueScan to calibrate
the scanner. Having calibrated the scanner I calibrated my printer,
again using VueScan. It takes about a week to get the chart airmailed
from Germany. Regards, John.
