Bluetooth / mobile phone connectivity problem

I have a Microsoft optical bluetooth desktop and was
hoping that I'd be able to use the tranceiver to connect
to my mobile phone (Sony Ericsson 610).

The phone appears in the list of Bluetooth devices but I
can't connect to it. It doesn't show up on explorer and
the XTNDConnect software that came with the phone only
appears to look for the phone on a COM port. Is there
any way that the MS bluetooth tranciever can be
configured to provide a COM port via Bluetooth. A work
colleague has a Belkin bluetooth dongle which allows a
COM port to be made available via Bluetooth ?

Any ideas ?
