Bluetooth headset for VOIP on laptop

Use an IBM T60 for work. Have IP softphone software installed for use at home. The supplied USB headset is big and ungainly and the cord trails in the way. Can I use a bluetooth headset instead? I think the laptop has bluetooth capability (based on seeing the bluetooth light on it). if so could anyone recommend a cheap one?
