Bluetooth Elite Kb/Mouse Wakeup problem

My new MS Elite Bluetooth kb/mouse does NOT wake up my computer from sleep.
I do have a Dell 9100 with XP-MCE

Microsoft indicates in related support articles that in some low power
states , BT devices may not connect with USB connected BT
transmitter/receiver.

Under Device manager/System/USM Root Hub/Power managemet tab, there is an
option "allow this device to wake up computer" or something like that.
This option is GRAYED out, and actually is NOT selectable by me.
I believe that with this option checked, the problem may go away.

How do I enable this feature?
Some other posts (Microsoft included) indicated adding two lines in the
registry - those two lines are ALREADY added in my registry - so this is not
the solution for me.

Anybody has any ideas which might solve this problem?

Thank you
