If you read through the Tom's Hardware guide that I linked you'll see that
they reported that Microsoft confirmed just such an ongoing development to
them - "Microsoft maintains that they are working on drivers and that
updates will extend compatibility to include this feature in particular."
It's a very well-respected site and I have no reason to doubt them.
I wouldn't necessarily rely on "a few other posts" in any newsgroup (no
matter how wonderful they usually are ;o).....) to find out what MS'
marketing decisions were. It's probably better to try and ask MS
directly... email customer support, what have you got to lose?
In the meantime, you could try re-reading the section on "Connecting other
Bluetooth devices" - it might help.
