Just got a new Fujitsu T2010 Tablet with Vista Business. All Fujitsu Tablets
are using the Toshiba BT stack that I'm not that happy with (doesn't
integrate well in Vista). I removed the Toshiba stack and was hoping that the
system would detect the BT and install the MS stack. It didn't recognize the
BT so I had to manually install a driver. Not knowing what BT chipset Fujitsu
are using I had to go through some trial and error. The result was that most
BT radio drivers give some functionality (file transfer, query other device
about available profiles), but for some reason I can't get PAN to work and
I'm not sure I get the BT 2.0 EDR features. I need the PAN to be able to use
my phone (HTC TyTn,WM6) as a modem.

Would appreciate any help or comments on the Toshiba BT to MS BT stack
process and also the PAN and BT 2.0 EDR functionality.

Best Regards
Jan

Bluetooth Stack Installation Guide

This document guides users to install or upgrade the Bluetooth Stack on
Windows Vista. Note: "Bluetooth Stack" is a name commonly
used to describe the driver and apps used to control Bluetooth devices.

Before updating the Bluetooth Stack, please make sure that either "Bluetooth
Stack for Windows by Toshiba" or "Microsoft Windows Vista Stack" is not
running
on your machine.

If you are using Bluetooth Devices (BT Mouse or keyboard, for example) be
advised that they will not be available while you are upgrading or switching
Bluetooth Stacks.

CONTENTS:
CASE 1 - How to install the newest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack.
CASE 2 - How to prepare your machine to use the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.

Notes
To use Microsoft Windows Vista Stack, Bluetooth Monitor 3 is required to turn
on/off the power of Bluetooth module. This application is not required if
"Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" is used.

Re-installing the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack may result in "unsigned file"
messages. Click "Install this driver software anyway" when non-logo'd
drivers are found.

CASE 1
Use "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba"

[Upgrade to latest Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba]
1. Download the latest install program of "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by
Toshiba" from the Toshiba WEB site.
2. Open “Programs and Features” under Control Panel and uninstall "Bluetooth
Stack
for Windows by Toshiba", which is currently installed, and then reboot the PC.
3. Click the downloaded executable (.exe file) to install the new Bluetooth
Stack, then reboot the PC (The.exe file will require reboot before and/or
after the installation).

[Microsoft Windows Vista Stack -> Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba]
1. Download the latest install program of "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by
Toshiba" from the Toshiba WEB site.
2. Open “Programs and Features” under Control Panel and uninstall Bluetooth
Monitor.
3. Click the downloaded executable (.exe file) to install the new Bluetooth
Stack,
and then reboot the PC.

CASE 2
Use "Microsoft Windows Vista Stack"

[Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba -> Microsoft Windows Vista Stack]
1. Download the install program of "Bluetooth Monitor for MS Stack” from the
Toshiba WEB site.
2. Open the Add/Remove Program under Control Panel and uninstall "Bluetooth
Stack
for Windows by Toshiba", which is currently installed, then reboot your PC.
3. Run (Double Click) the downloaded "Bluetooth Monitor for MS Stack"
executable.
This will put this readme (Bluetooth Stack Installation Guide.txt) on the
desktop and
the setup program in the folder c:\Toshiba\BTMonitor.
4. Run BtMon3Inst.exe located in the folder c:\toshiba\BTmonitor\ to install
the Bluetooth
Monitor for MS Stack. Once installation is complete, restart the system to
complete all changes to the system.
