Hi, hope someone can help me using easy to understand suggestions.
I have been playing a MultiPlayer game for some time with no problems. The
last few days though I have experienced the system shutdown while playing. As
far as I know there have been no updates installed on my sytem and no changes
made.

Here is what I get once I log back onto the system.

Problem signature:

driving me nuts. Be sure to explain how to get the information needed.

Now you can use flip 3d with your Blue screens to browse among the
hundreds of error messages, blue screens, UAC windows and other crap that
vista has!

Could be a overheating problem.
Maybe your cooling fans need some dusting off.

Are you using ATI's drivers from ATI's website?

As far as I can tell the drivers have no new updates.

I will do a cleaning tomorrow.

If I get the problem and am quick enough to Alt & Tab to the desktop I do
get a message that the display has quit working but has now recovered.
Display Driver r300.

Does that help at all?

which is Catalyst 7.12

If you didn't install this then you don't have the latest.
Windoze update does not update this kind of driver.

Seems to be a Vista problem?

It sounds like a hardware problem.
or
You could try a clean install and see if that helps.
or
Try another Video card.
or
a power supply.

When something fails after doing nothing that would be
something to try. If you are still in warranty you may try that route.

I've had a video card do things like what you describe when it was
under a load not functioning properly.

I'd try a clean install 1st.

Tried a clean install... same problem

Is there an easy way to test the video card/power supply?
