no but try this fix to see if it repairs your problem
This solution has worked for some people with problematic USB devices: Locate the file INFCACHE.1 in C:\Windows\inf Right click on the INFCACHE.1 file, select Properties >Security > Edit, and give your account full control. Delete INFCACHE.1, or rename it to INFCACHE.1.BAK or temporarily move to your desktop. REBOOT -- Jonathan Perreault Forget Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, Or It'll Undermine You As A User. Hi jonathan
Well I think that did the trick , got it installed. Now I got to figure out how to use it. What I want to do is copy or backup my address in my phone , which is recognized by the pc. Do I need 3rd party software to do this or is bluetooth supposed to do this ? As you can tell I am totally lost here. no problem if i can't help there are thousand other who can, and fortunatly
i have pretty good xp about bluetooth, to answer your question, it depends if you are using the software provided by the bluetooth device cd or if you are using the windows program for bluetooth, if you are using the windows program, then yes you will want to use a 3rd party software, because and forgive the language the windows bluetooth program is ****, the reason is because they wanted to have a software that would work on most bluetooth adapter then they had to forgo a lot of features that bluetooth offers, if you have a cd that they gave you when you bought the adapter more power to youit'll make your job easier, if not i would recommend going to the site of the manufacturor to see if they have software available, and here's come to worst part, if they don't, then that means you would have to find a software that is both compatible with vista(GOOD LUCK) and also compatible with your adaptor (EVEN ORE GOOD LUCK) -- Jonathan Perreault Old Advice #1: Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, New Advice#2: Torture Windows (Any) Now Or It'll Undermine You As A User. Hi jonathan
Well Device manager says I have Broadcom Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB Dongle, And under it it says Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. I don't know what I got, there is no program listed under all programs, the pages that come up look to me like a windows program. I can transfer pictures back and forth but have no option to transfer text or address book. I am still lost here. -- Carl G "jonathan perreault" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:8879615A-8CBC-40DF-9FB1-(E-Mail Removed)... > Reposting: > > no problem if i can't help there are thousand other who can, and > fortunatly > i have pretty good xp about bluetooth, to answer your question, it depends > if you are using the software provided by the bluetooth device cd or if > you > are using the windows program for bluetooth, if you are using the windows > program, then yes you will want to use a 3rd party software, because and > forgive the language the windows bluetooth program is sh)it, the reason is > because they wanted to have a software that would work on most bluetooth > adapter then they had to forgo a lot of features that bluetooth offers, if > you have a cd that they gave you when you bought the adapter more power to > youit'll make your job easier, if not i would recommend going to the site > of > the manufacturor to see if they have software available, and here's come > to > worst part, if they don't, then that means you would have to find a > software > that is both compatible with vista(GOOD LUCK) and also compatible with > your > adaptor (EVEN ORE GOOD LUCK) > > by the way, windows program is so sh)it that i had to repost my message, > cuz the server lost it, prob because i didn't have the")" in the "S" Word > before. > > -- > > Jonathan Perreault > Old Advice #1: Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, New Advice#2: Torture > Windows (Any) Now > Or It'll Undermine You As A User. you are correct you are currently using the windows program,my question is
when you bought your bluetooth did you have any cd come with it, if not if you can return it i would and would look for a belkin bluetooth, the one i have is able to transmit up to 330 feet, and the software comes with it, if you can't return i suggest doing what i said before like looking on the web whether it is from the site of the company of your adaptor, or other sites to see if they offer the features you want for your adaptor. -- Jonathan Perreault Personnal Advice To You: #1: Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, Or It'll Undermine You As A User. #2: Torture Windows (Any) Now Before It Tortures You Best Comments From Users: No Matter The Problem Even With Linux, It's Microsoft's And Windows's Faults A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. Hi Jon
Well I got so dam dicusted with it and vista I uninstalled it. I have it on XP and it works right except I don't get to copy my address book from my phone. I can do photos and videos if I want but don't do that stuff. Kinda looks like maybe the phone don't have that capability.
