while rebooting my window xp, the blue screen show up indicating - "STOP:
C0000221 {Bad Image Checksum} The image SHDOCVW.dlll is possibly corrupt.
The header checksum does not match the computed checksum".

I can not get past the blue screen. I have tried to start in safe mode,
safe mode with command prompt. I have also tried Last Know good
Configuration, Debugging mode, and Directory Services Restore Mode.

any suggestions?

Hi ZZo,
You need to copy that file from a Boot disk by using the recovery console!.

shdocvw.dll Is: Microsoft Shell Doc Object and Control

Try to copy the file from a recovery disk or an XP CD that came with this
machine by following these steps:
<MS article with some amendments to suite the file in Q::>
Make a note of the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
Rename the shdocvw.dll file to shdocvw.old. To do so, type the following
lines at the command prompt, pressing ENTER after each line, where Drive is
the drive on which Windows is installed:
Drive:
cd windows\system32
ren shdocvw.dll shdocvw.old
Insert the Windows XP CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
Extract a new copy of the shdocvw.dll file from the Windows XP CD to the
Windows\System32 folder on your hard disk. To do so, type the following lines
at a command prompt, pressing ENTER after each line, where CDROMDrive is the
drive letter of the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that contains the Windows XP
CD-ROM, and Drive is the drive on which Windows is installed:

extract CDROMDrive:\i386\shdocvw.dl_ Drive:\windows\system32\shdocvw.dll
For example, if your CD-ROM is drive E and Windows is installed on drive C,
type extract e:\i386\shdocvw.dl_ c:\windows\system32\shdocvw.dll, and then
press ENTER.

If you cannot do it and the procedure looks to much for you, take the
machine to your local repair shop for them to sort it out for you and no need
to mess around with it!.
