Hello,

I have a problem that I need help solving. The computer starts up and
I receive a blue screen telling me Windows is stopping the bootup to
prevent damage. There is a device driver issue... I can start in
Safe Mode, but I cannot startup in Safe Mode with networking. Here is
what I have done thus far:
- booted from XP CD and ran chkdsk /r
- disabled the onboard network adapter
- have uninstalled the network adapter from the Device Manager

Since the computer starts in Safe Mode, but does not startup with Safe
Mode with networking, it leads me to think that it has something to do
with the Network Drivers. Can anyone be of help? Thanks in advance,

Chad

What is the error that comes up?

It should be a few lines down from the top of the blue screen. It will be in
a word like DRIVER_ISSUE.

The Blue Screen starts out with this:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer. 0x00000050 (0x8009E000,0x00000000,0xEF03327B,
0x00000000)

I am not in front of the computer right now, but am going to have
someone at the office to take a picture of the blue screen and email
it to me. Will provide more of the error message in a minute. Have
looked up the 0x00000050 error online and it seems to be pointing to
RAM? However, I think it is saying a Device Driver is the problem.
Will know more when I receive the picture of the screen. Thanks for
replying and will post more in a minute,

Chad

Okay the complete blue screen error is:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first ime you've ...

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly
installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or
software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or
shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable
components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup
Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Techinical Information:
*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x8009E000,0x00000000,0xEF03327B,0x00000000)

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Chad
