see if you can boot up in safe mode

hit F8 right after the bios message

if you can get to safe mode there are a few things you can try:

run chkdsk /f to correct any possible file system errors

also try running msconfig and take all apps out of start up...
if you system boots up ok...
all you prob. need in startup would be your firewall and virus checker.

if all else fails...but you can get to safe mode...
you can try a system restore

Philo - my son tells me before this happened yesterday he had uploaded an
aol spy zapper recommended by aol. I don't know if that helps or not
Thanks
