Hi Jen,

You can send this file to me at (E-Mail Removed) using a subject line of 'per
req' and I'll take a look at it:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini020608-01.dmp

Rick,
I see you're trying to help many people with their Vista problems. Here's
mine...
Brand New Dell 530 Desktop

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.2
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 00000014
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000001
BCP4: 8065FB10
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini021808-04.dmp
C:\Users\Sherri\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-66518-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Sherri\AppData\Local\Temp\WER52EF.tmp.version.txt

Read our privacy statement:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?link...3&clcid=0x0409

The file contents from the above listed text file....

Windows NT Version 6.0 Build: 6000
Product (0x2): Windows Vista (TM) Home Basic
Edition: HomeBasic
BuildString: 6000.16584.x86fre.vista_gdr.071023-1545
Flavor: Multiprocessor Free
Architecture: X86
LCID: 1033

I couldn't open the .dmp file or the .xml file.

I was on the phone with Dell for over an hour last night and one of the
techs installed an updated drive for me yet the problem persists. I have the
latest BIOS and I have run sfc/scannow. The scan said that there was some
currupt files that could not be repaired. I tried to open the cbs.log file
but was denied access..even after I gave myself permission. FYI, I installed
Microsoft Word 2000 from my old discs from my old computer. Could that have
caused this problem or is it simply Vista being Vista? My sister has a laptop
from a different manufacturer and has the same problem. Any help would be
appreciated.

Rick, Did you find out anything about this shutdown issue? I get the same
BCCode 101. I would like to know how to read the minidump files to see if I
can figure out what the problem is. More info in post "unexpected shutdown
dell laptop" for 3/15/2008.

Hi,

I look at lots of dump files, and I don't recall if this one specifically
was resolved. If you like, you can send yours using the provided
instructions.

Yes,which would typically be displayed as a set of words typed in all
uppercase and joined together by underscores.

It appears that way because the forum you are using munges the address to
prevent users from having their addresses harvested. The forum slurps
messages from Microsoft's newsservers, which is where I am. I believe you
have now heard from me privately, but you can use rick_at_mvps_dot_org
