Hi,

For the last week my Pentium 4 Windows XP comp occasionally crashes when I turn it on. I get a blue screen telling me I might want to disable Bios cache/shadowing options.

The technical error is:

Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF74A6629, 0xF8916EF4, 0xF8916BF0)

I went to the Intel website and used their automatic diagnostic tool to see if my drivers needing updating. It said I currently had 5.611.1231.2003 Wired Networking and that version 5.639.0118.2006 is available. So I downloaded it and chose "RUN" but I still randomly get the blue error message on start up and the Intel Driver Update Utility still claims my system hasn't been updated!

I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me.

Thanks.

Madz

Do you know what the second line says?

For example like this...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330182

That will help narrow down what the cause is.

Gigabyte EX58-UD5 | Intel i7 @ 4.2Ghz under a Noctua NH-U12P | 6GB Corsair XMS DDR3
Gigabyte GTX670 | Creative X-FI Titanium HD | Crucial M225 128GB SSD + 3TB's of Storage
Corsair HX850 | Logitech G19 & G25 | Razer Deathadder Respawn | Wireless Xbox 360 Pad
Samsung 2443BW | Lian Li PC-7FW | Acoustic Energy Aego M | Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode Windows?
