BLUE SCREEN ERROR 0x00000024

What is going on? Have been on my friends laptop since yesturday trying to
fix this. Have followed all quide lines from dell with no sucess. stays on
blue screen unless I switch of manually and will not let me reinstall xp or
anything. Ran a check on system and says everything ok. Would be very
grateful for any help
