Blue Screen of Death during Shutdown

I'm using the most recently updated of Vista, and very frequently, when I
shut down, I get the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). I don't catch many of the
error, but I do see something about a memory dump.

I hadn't seen it much, but it seems to be increasing in frequency since I
got my new printer (Lexmark 3400) and installed it and the drivers.

I have an AMD Turion processor with 2.0 GB processing speed, and I have 959
mb of RAM. I have turned off the pretty visual bells and whistles in Vista,
to see if that will help with this error. Anyone else have any other ideas?

Go into Control Panel/System and Maintenance/System/Advanced Settings in
the Startup and recovery section uncheck automatically restart. Then post
with your error messages. Shutdown problems are difficult to diagnose. One
method that would help if you suspect a specific driver, like you with
Lexmark, would be to use Task Manager and shut down any tasks that relate to
it. Same with any other tasks you suspect.

I've tried shutting down anything relating to the printer driver, and I still
got that message. I even went so far as to uninstall the printer completely.
I had the same thing happen last night when I went to shut down (but I had
uninstalled the driver and hadn't re-started the computer at that point).

I know how hard it is to diagnose just what's going on when it's a shut down
error. When I was getting those same errors right when I got my computer, I
could pinpoint what was causing it (it ended up being something with the
anti-spyware program I got). When I get home tonight, I can post the error
codes as it shows in the error reporting section. (I'm at work right now, so
I can't access it). Granted, it's only numbers and stuff, but that could
help, right?

I still suggest you uncheck auto restart and sent the codes from the Blue
Screen The codes that would be helpful are in the mini-dump or on the
screen. Good luck.
