Blue Screen when Checking Disk

I'm having a strange problem where my XP Pro system crashes when trying to
check the C drive. The dump flashes by quickly then the system reboots and
repeats the cycle until I press a key to skip the disk check. Nothing gets
recorded in the Even Viewer udner Save Dump. My guess is that some .sys or
other kernel file has been corrupted, but I can't really tell.

Any thoughts on how to go about troubleshooting this problem?
