I tried to install an Adaptec AHA-2740 driver on a Win 2k
server. On reboot and any boot thereafter, I get a stop
error 0x000000D1 driver_irql_not_less_or_equal. I opened
the recovery console and listed the drivers but I see
nothing related to the Adaptec controller that I
recognize. Please advise.

According to:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...d_stp_ottj.asp

"Stop 0xD1 messages can occur after installing faulty drivers or system
services. If a driver is listed by name, disable, remove, or roll back that
driver to confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the
manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially
important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners,
DVD playback, and CD mastering tools."

I know I have a faulty driver, that's why I booted into
the recovery console. The problem is I can't determine
which driver to disable. All the "AHA" drivers already
show disabled and I don't recognize any of the other
drivers as being from Adaptec.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode? If you can't, have you tried booting
to any shell with the card removed from the computer?
