Hello,
I purchased a new HP Pavilion dv9000 less than a month ago. It has Vista
Premium installed. I have gotten a total of 9 blue screens since I purchased
it, for various reasons - USB errors, memory...it seems like there is a
different error every time! I feel that this is too much, and that something
may be wrong with it. I am not the most computer-savvy person but feel a new
laptop shouldn't be doing this. Any thoughts?

No question, it's too much. Either the hardware is faulty or something you
installed since purchase is incompatible. Remove any installed software, see
if the problems are relieved. If not, contact HP as the machine may be
faulty. This is the time to invoke your warranty.

You haven't stated what the STOP error code is, so I shall presume the PC is
restarting automatically.

First of all make sure the error message is displayed on the screen by
stopping the computer from automatically restarting when an error is
encountered, viz :
Right-click Computer > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Advanced Tab
then click Settings at the bottom alongside Startup and Recovery. In System
Failure untick ‘Auto Restart’. Now, next time you have a BSOD, the STOP error
will be displayed on the screen.

Make a note of the error number (the format is 0x00000aaa, where aaa is the
error number, e.g. 05A) and look for a generalised explanation of your error
