Blue Mouse..cordless, with wheel

The MS software ..mouseware 4.1 ..WOULD not
install...Downloaded MS 4.01...works fine....tried 4.1
again...would not install....Have Compaq 1.4g , 512m
ram.winXP...any answers.???
Mouse brand new..
Disk keepssaying"other" mouseware installed and will not
install
