Blue globe over network icon

This one is probably obvious, but it's illuding me.

I'm wondering about the significance of the little blue globe that
sometimes, but not always, appears over the network icon in the notification
area.

Got some ideas but not sure which one is the correct one ....

(A) Connected to the Internet
(B) Connected to multiple networks
(C) Quality of network connections is good.

Any ideas?
