blue font in Windows Explorer

I partitioned an external hard drive and thereafter the font used in Windows
Explorer to display the folders and files in both partitions (including the
partitions themselves) is blue. It's the same bright blue used to display
hidden Windows files like $NtServicePackUninstallIDNMitigationAPIs$.

I would really prefer the usual color for the partitions and their contents.
How to fix?

Right click drive icon
properties
General
uncheck "Compress drive to save disk space"

some extra disk space will be used for uncompressed files

The issue is not simply a matter of what color they are. Blue
indicates that the files and folders are compressed. Unless you want
them to be compressed, uncompress them.

What he said plus, if you do want them compreesed but still don't want them
blue, go to Tools>Folder options>View and uncheck the box that says "Show
encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color".

However, I did not know about the "Show
> encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" checkbox, even if I had to have been looking at it several times while searching for a solution. I went and looked again after reading this. It's really there!!! Thanks again.
