I have a dell pc with XP and IE 6. On my desktop is only a shortcut to IE.
How do I get the regular icon that I can right click and see properties so I
can delete cookite-temp files etc. I have gone into the desktop properties
and the check is by the IE on desktop-tried taking it off and then on again
but only get shortcuts. Even tried finding the target in the program files
and tried to copy the file but again still get shortcut. Can any one help?

Hi Old Bob,

There are two possibilities. First, see if this command helps, from
Start/Run:

regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll
