My pc's display has suddenly gone very blotchy and patchy. The machine will boot up, then after 30 secs ther display goes blotchy and patchy, this is not a display setting issue. Then I get the dreaded blue screen and the machoine attempts to reboot several times (blue screen repeats).

I've opened up the box, and removed dust and checked the components are docked properly. When I boot the machine the error replicates. I've checked that all ther fans are working, including on the Graphics card.

My spec is;

Vista Home basic 64 bit- service pack 2
AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.20 Ghz
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon 4870x2

sounds like you have a failing video card. it is getting really hot?

What is the error code you are getting with the BSOD ?
