      15th Sep 2003
the big windows logo , on loading screen after turning on
my machine looks like its been made using an old 16bit
machine and some of the small letters flick on and off.

Does the display sort itself out once Windows finishes loading?

The quality of the black splash screen can vary. Like other versions of
Windows there is a point where the basic system display gets handed over to
the drivers that will be used when Windows is running. Different
hardware/driver combinations will handle this switch more gracefully or
less gracefully. If your display quality eventually sorts out, then what
you are seeing is normal for your current setup.
