If I press the space bar when over a protected cell it
still disappears, how do I fix this?

ALSO.. how can I copy and paste a worksheet complete with
cell sizes, formulae and protections?

PLEASE HELP!

If the worksheet is protected (Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet), you
won't be able to type anything in a locked cell.

To copy a complete worksheet:
1. Right-click on the sheet tab
2. Choose Move or Copy
3. Select a location for the copy
4. Check the 'Create a copy' box
5. Click OK
