Iam finding after weeks of problems that MAS ware is
stopping access to the internet on XP with telewest
broadband, the program is running on the process page and
every time you open it a new process will load but no
program will show on the screen of in applications.
Having turned off MAS ware the problem has stopped, any
patch or update programs available??? Please

Hi there:

Removing some spamware programs causes the Internet
connection or the firewall to become non-functioning;
Here are the fixes:
Open Internet Explorer, click File and ensure that Work
Offline is not checked.
For no Internet connection, if using XPSP2: at the
command prompt, type: netsh winsock reset <enter> and
reboot. See this MS article for additional info and
other OS versions.

To enable Windows Firewall in Windows XP SP2
1. Click Start; Click Run; type Firewall.cpl and then
click OK.
2. On the General Tab click ON (Recommended) and then
click OK.

Install/enable a firewall: http://support.microsoft.com/

Hope this helps,

Check your build number in Help, about.

If it is less than 1.0.614, there's an update available here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I'm not sure this will solve your problem, but it is the newest available
code.

Have you checked with the Telewest support folks about this?
