How is it possible to include someone in a distribution list without their
name appearing in the list? To view e-mails sent to the distribution group
but not view e-mails that are outgoing from a member of the group. I know
that there isn't any autoforwarding because that message isn't in the e-mail.

You need to use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) field when you compose the
message. You can not add them to the DL (DL doesn't support adding addresses
to either the CC or BCC fields within a DL) - but when composing the message
they can be added individually.
