I tried every fix I could find on the net and my ISP, Nothing worked

The worm wouldn't let the patch download and It wouldn't let the patch go in.

I even reformatted my HD. The worm still blocked the patch.

My ISP handholder told me he had downloaded the Symantec virus
remover and the windows patch on a win. 98 machine. Then removed the
worm and installed the patch sucessfully.

I tried that but the worm still blocked the patch.

I decided to reformat again to be sure the worm was removed.

I disabled the System Restore service then used my Windows
disc to reformat the HD.

When the reinstall prompted me to register with the windows site
A LIGHT CLICKED ON! Altho reformatting cleaned the worms out I
let them back in when I reconnected to regester!!!

I clicked to register later then completer the reinstall of Windows XP
Then I used the 31/2 disc to run the Symantec remover for Blaster
and Welshia Worms.
It found and removed two files on Welshia and none on Blaster.

Then I ran the windows patch from the 31/2 disc and this time it went in!
I connected my dial-up and used Explorer to connect.

I've been running about 4 days with faster page loading and not one
shutdown.
