Hi all

I just bought a Dell
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz
2.00 GB RAM
NVDIA GeForce 8600 GTS
Vista Ultimate
I have Norton Security 2007

When I receive the computer I had many problem With Window Mail and IE7. I
would get many window pop up.
I was told by Dell that my Computer was infected by Spyware or a virus.

I format and reinstalled everything. Now I get the same symptom. I did a
complete Norton scan and everything if fine.

When I go on Nero.com web page to download a trial version of Nero I get
many blank window pop up.

Is there a solution to solve the problem.

Thank you

Hi,

The Norton software is likely trying to block the pop-up content. Disable it
and see if the system returns to normal.

Hi,

Sorry to ask, but did you disable all of the items it inserts into the
startup group and services? Usually there are at least 3-5 startup entries
and 2 or 3 services depending on configuration. Then the system needs to be
rebooted so that none of Symantec's background routines are running.

My solution to a Norton problem is to uninstall it, run symclean, then find
another product.
