Blank Screen When Trying to Activate

Good Day,

Some of my hardware (MB/CPU) went bad so I had to replace it. I performed a
repair install so that all my programs, etc. would remain intact. When trying
to log in, Windows tells me that I must activate before I can log in. I click
"Yes" to activate and the screen goes black (but I do have a movable mouse
cursor) and then nothing happens. I have waited a long time, I have tried
many times. I am wondering if Windows is unable to recognize my PCI LAN card
and therefore can't connect with the activation server. Can someone PLEASE
help me with this? My Windows XP is totally legal and legit. I purchased it
retail and everything.

Thanks in advance for any help!

With a new board & cpu,a repair to xp will not work.Youre trying to "repair"
an OS set up for diffrent board components,xp can't change these settings
in repair..You need to boot to xp cd,perform a clean installation of xp..

Even if your xp is legal, i doubt you can install it on another pc as one
licence is mean for one comps. Beside you are infact making major changes as
in changing to another motherboard and cpu, my advise for you is to backup
your files and do a fresh install, not forgetting different motherboard
require different drivers
