I had changed my background to the highest pixel resolution, and the
screen went blank. I can't get anything on it. I know how to start in
safe mode, but how do I change settings to get my display back??

To make it easy on you and the rest of us, try a System Restore.

Hello,

Switch on (or restart) your computer. Keep hitting F8 until you get to a
Windows XP Menu.

Select 'Enable VGA Mode', and hit Enter twice.

Once you are in the desktop, switch to the correct resolution.
