Blank screen after fast user switching

I have recently (last 8 weeks) re-built my computer with Windows XP pro SP2.
All patches etc. have been installed, together with the latest drivers etc.

The computer is always logged in on my account (24/7), my wife generally
logs on as herself maybe once a day for an hour or two and again has no
problems. However (maybe 75%) of the time when she logs out of her user id
the monitor goes blank (as if there is no signal getting to the monitor).
The only way out is to restart and log back on, a real pain.

Interestingly when this happens i am able to use the Remote Desktop
Connection from another computer and log back into myself, where everything
appears to be running normally. Disconnecting from the RDC does not correct
things.

It's as if the monitor has gone to sleep.

I have read MS article id 872789 which seems to be similar to the problem
that i am experiencing, does anyone else have any comments or views?

Many thanks.
