When preparing e-mails for forwarding, the placeholder is empty for any
embedded pictures(s). I receive the e-mail with the pic showing and the
person to whom the e-mail is forwarded receives the picture OK. However, when
preparing the e-mail for forwarding I only see a blank placeholder. Is there
some method to 'unblock' the placeholder & pic when preparing the e-mail for
forwarding?

I'd check Tools>Options>Mail Format>Internet Format and see of the top option
made a difference.
