I have a problem with printing in outlook.... can anyone help?

I have narrowed it down to messages in HTML format & it only happens when my printer is set to dulpex.

When a small email (less than one page) is sent to print you can see the printer process both sides of the page as when it prints duplex, I have confirmed by checking the print metre readings that we are indeed been charged for two pages.

I know that the HTML printing is linked with IE so I've tried from IE & small document only uses one page.

I have spoken the printer vendor who claims that this is a software problem, thus "not our problem!!"

System details:
Printer Server - Windows Server 2003
Printer Model - Ricoh Aficio 3235C
Printer Driver - Ricoh RCPS Ver 6.22
Outlook client - Outlook 2003 SP2- build 11.8010.6568
