Let me add to the existing clamor. I'm helping a friend
out. He's running WinXP HE. Yesterday when I was at his
home, everything was working properly with OE6. Last
evening when he went to look at his emails, the message
portion of the email is blank. This is happening with
previously stored emails and currently downloaded emails.
He gets an hourglass when he puts the curser in the
message portion of the email. So, if anyone can shed some
light on this problem, please speak up.

Atlantic.net, his ISP, suggested installing SP1. He got
the message garbled so I'm not sure whether they meant OE6
SP1, IE6 SP1 or both?

They probably meant IE6 SP1, which will update OE.

However - you may get more help in an OE group. This is a group to support
Outlook from the Office group of programs. Outlook Express is a part of
Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name...

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/new...ternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number. Good luck!
