We use Norton Symantec 10.1 and another user has the same version of Norton
and and configured the same way but she does not have this problem.

And you think that proves something? Symantec products, especially the Norton
brand, are notorious for having problems interacting with Outlook correctly.
If you don't want to try my suggestion, that's your right, but if you have a
problem to solve and you won't try the suggestions people make, how do you
expect to solve the problem?

items, etc.. The doby will all my emails does not open plus I cannot open
any of my folders. After about 5 years of using Outlook Express, propblem
just started.

Size of .dbx files are? Last time you compacted was?

That said, do yourself a favor and ditch Outhouse Distress and get
Thunderbird. Not only is it supported, it has an excellent junk mail
filter and a spell check that corrects as you type. Not only that, it
has a calendar add on as well as a signature add on. To back it up, you
need to copy three files and that's it.

Get it at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird.

For an expert answer from people who use Outlook Express, post in the
Outlook Express newsgroup. You didn't post your version, so choose it from
here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...s/default.mspx

Outlook Express is part of Internet Explorer. Microsoft Outlook, which is
what this newsgroup supports is part of Microsoft Office. In spite of the
similarity in name, these are two different email clients.

The good folks in the Outlook Express newsgroup will be able to help you.
You'll stand a much better chance of getting good assistance there rather
than here.

Good luck!

Um, I'm not having any problems with Outhouse Distress. I gave that POS
up years ago.

This newsgroup deals with Office Outlook. You need to ask in an Outlook
Express newsgroup, like microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general.
