Hi Peepes,
Can anyone advise on how to get passed the black startup screen which gives
the options to; start normally, last known configuration, safe mode, safe
with networking and safe mode with command prompt?

I'm fairly sure this has started to happen since we had a power cut.

PC is evesham ebox with MS MCE XP Pro.
Many thanx in advance for any/all advice.
Chris.

It should not be an option once you select Start Normally and successfully
get to the Windows desktop and Shut Down works correctly; it should not
appear during the next boot.

Hi Jerry, thanx for reply,

Thats what I thought too, however I've tried start "Normally", "Last known
good configuration", "Safe mode" and "Safe mode with networking" all of which
have brought me back to the same screen??

The only one I haven't tried is "Start in safe mode with Command Prompt"
only coz I'm not sure what to do assuming it did take me somewhere new, any
advice on that option?

Someone at work today suggested I try and obtain a copy of "ERD Commander" -
what ever that is, any thoughts on that?

Chris.
