Does anyone know off-hand if black (excess toner) streaking on a HP
8500 / 8550 (it's the same engine) is due to the imaging drum,
transfer drum, black toner, or blue toner? The only reference I can
find (google) seems to say it is the blue toner. I'm talking about
the type of problem you get on an HP B&W laserjet 5000 / 8000 / 8100
etc. when the wiper arm on the toner cartridge goes. Since the
imaging drum is part of of the cartridge on the B&W lasers and
separate on the 8500 / 8550, I would have guesed it was the imaging
drum on the 8500 that was bad. I'm trying to figure out which part to
order first. Thanks.

For the record, in my case it was the imaging drum.
