i start my computer and it goes through the begining screens fine...get past
the initial screen of Windows...get to black screen with white cursor. Start
in safe mode just have same screen -- no menu, no hot keys work...nothing.
Please help.

Check the BIOS & make sure that the hd with xp is set to 1st priority..If
thats ok,install xp cd,boot pc to xp cd,at menu screen,press r key for
recovery console,select 1 for C:,press enter key for password,type: Fixboot
Agree,type: CHKDSK C: /R Once thru,type:EXIT Let xp start,remove xp cd.
