When I select a clip on the Contents pane, then I click "play" on the
monitor, I see the video playing. But if I put this clip on the Timeline and
I select it in the timeline and click "play", the monitor stays black and I
only hear the sound of the video clip. Then if I save my project and restart
my
PC, I can see the same video clip on the timeline playing well in the Monitor.
I tried to turn off all codecs, it worked sometimes and other times not and
I had to reboot my PC so it works.
Can you help ?

I Disabled cursor and bitmap accelerations and now it seems to work.
It's a 2.4 GHz notebook with 512 MB of RAM.

Finally, I had to Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleration, as well
as all cursor and advanced drawing accelerations.
I did that because while I was editing in WMM, the CPU was going to 100 %
and WMM was hanging.
Which negative effect Turning down the acceleration at this level will have ?
Later, I plan to burn a DVD with my movie. Will it affect the quality of my
video when I watch it on DVD ?

You may find it affects some rpogrammes, but not much, it depends on what
you do with the computer.
