hi,
im am having a serious problem with my system configuration. I'm running
windows xp on a aopen ak77-8xn motherboard and a ati radeon8500 graphics
card.
i did not experience any kind of problem with that hardware combination
until today. While booting everything seems quite normal until the
logonscreen of xp should appear because the display turns black. the pc does
not freeze, i can logon blind if i find the buttons. In secure-mode or in
vga-mode it is the same effect.
the best thing about this is, i am running linux on a seperate partition. I
thought I could boot linux instead if i cant work with windows currently,
but it is even the same! at the moment when the logon-screen should appear
my display turns black!
Currently i"m running a geforce2mx card to search the web for help. with
that card I don"t have any problems... can anyone tell me how to get my
radeon8500 to work again?
thanx,
Nico
