Black Boot Screen says Windows XP/Installation Upgrade

For some reason, I am all of a sudden defaulting to an option on my
boot screen that says: Windows XP/Installation upgrade. If I am not
near my compter upon restart to deselect this option and go to the
first option which is Windows XP, the computer will go through this
long check of the drives and then say it can't find the disc. Even if
I put the XP installation disc in the computer, the same thing happens.
Can anyone advise on how to get rid of this third option that XP is
defaulting to.

Thanks.
