At that level of print usage a midrange inkjet printer may meet your needs
well. You might take a look at the following:
DeskJet 5940, $99 list at

Both these come with both black and color cartridges and normally use both at
the same time, but both will print with only the black cartridge installed if
you wanted to do that for some reason. These printers are very fast,
especially if you print in draft mode.
