BJC 80 on USB

I have a bjc80 that I'm trying to use on an Averatec laptop. This machine
has USB 2.0 but no Parallel port. I have a parallel to usb printer cable,
but cannot get the printer to work.I have applied the latest patches from
Averatec to ensure that my USB is current. Any suggestions?
