Bizarre printer re-direction problem

A user has a locally connected parallel port printer (Printer1)
They have another printer that is a IP printer (via a print server)
(Printer2)

For some reason, when the user logs in, printing to Printer1
automatically comes out of Printer 2. I have checked the port that
Printer1 uses and it is using the correct port (LPT1) and there is no
other weird redirection as far as I can see.

The way to fix this is to go into Device Manager, remove the LPT Port,
re-detect it, and only then does the printing come out of the right
printer. However, when the user logs out and then back in, the problem
comes back.

Any ideas?
