Bits not working

Hi,

I am having a serious of problems with winxp lately.
First trebuchet Ms bold doesnt work, and now I've found out that Bits
is not working either because I cant get to Windows updates.

The Background trasnfer service is stopped and whenever I try to start
it it gives an error, saying that it tried to access illegal memory.

Any sugestions to solve this problem????
