Can Anyone help me set up a bitmap logo behind the screen where users logon
and enter passwords, not just their desktop? A solution for xp machines
would be great

This might also be of interest:
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors]
"Background"="red green blue"
where red green blue are values from 0-255.
