I know Bitlocker is only for Vista but is there any Microsoft product that
is similar to Bitlocker that would work with XP.

I'm aware of the third party apps such as pgp whole drive encrypt and
drivecrypt, but I'm just wondering if there is a M$ product.

Thank you

Hi,

You can simply encrypt your files using EFS - a free feature of XP &
other MS OS's.
To fully secure your data you will need to export the recovery
certificate to a USB mem stick or floppy and then delete it from the
PC.
(An advanced process you will need to google to find out how to do.)

Hope that helps.

The while-you-were-out message program you have been looking for!

Why ask here? What encryption program you use has nothing to do with
the OS and is just your personal preference.

Ask elsewhere.

Being curious, I just did a googlegroups search on author:
noconsequence in newsgroups beginning microsoft.public.windowsxp...

There were 368 messages listed. I didn't have the patience to look at
all 368, but I checked the first ten. In each of them, your sole
contribution was berating the poster for asking his question in the
wrong place. As best I remember, the same has been true of most, if
not all, of the remaining 358 messages.

Lest anyone here should have any doubt, you truly are a person of no
consequence.

Was there a question here? And what does this relate to WinXP?

Post elsewhere...and grow some thicker skin, nancy-boy.
